At Little Squirrels it is our aim to not only provide a caring environment but one that enables your child to thrive. We recognise how each child’s individuality is a doorway to their curiosity and learning.
Children learn through their own play and what interests them. At Little Squirrels we aim to provide an enriching environment for children to explore all areas of learning at their own pace, whilst also being guided by adults to develop ideas and strengthen their development.
Laura and Meg are both qualified at level 6, achieving a degree in Early Childhood Education. We have both gained a lot of experience in the early years sector since completing our degrees. We have extensive knowledge of the EYFS and how best to encourage children’s learning and development.
Laura worked as a manager of a nursery for the past 4 years, whereby she developed the skills to effectively run an early years setting and help staff provide opportunities for learning.
Meg has worked in foundation units and nurseries and obtained a lot of knowledge and skills whilst assessing level 2, 3, and 5 childcare qualifications as the Early Years assessor.

We are passionate about using the environment and natural resources in everyday play. We believe it is so important for children to recognise how our natural world can play a huge role in their lives. Our aim is to incorporate it into regular play so that it becomes inherent in their childhood.
We recognise the importance of incorporating literacy into learning and how valuable a love of reading can be for a child. Reading is incorporated into daily circle time and with small groups. It is also our aim that literacy is intertwined into other activities to enhance knowledge and passion of books and what they can offer a child’s learning.
In addition to this we believe developing social skills in children is vital; ensuring they are confident, kind and caring to others, as well as accepting and tolerant to all differences and beliefs.
